Working Peacefully...

I’ve just finished up a commission inspired by the Tibetan prayer flags for an exterior planter at a private residence. A lovely project. These flags are very colorful and traditionally strung along trails and peaks in the Himalayas. They are meant to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Tibetans believe that prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread good will and compassion into the air for all to receive.

On one side, I wanted to show where they are traditionally displayed. On the other side, I wanted to fuse some fun and good energy into the flags I created, and so designed a close up of the flags with bits of interesting repurposed ceramic and glass. Installation coming soon!

Being creative during COVID-19 times

June+studio+2020.jpg

It has been a challenge to stay focused in the studio and balance all that is happening in the world. The feeling of being overwhelmed pulled a shadow over the studio space for a while, but I’m slowly beginning to find inspiration after showing up daily, even if just to sweep the floor.

All of my shows and events have been cancelled for the remainder of the year, but if you are interested in any artwork I have available or would like to commission a piece, please contact me. I currently have several commissions in the works, so will be sharing images soon.

Hope you are staying safe and healthy, and getting some time to be creative or contemplative. Would love to hear from you!
